feeling kinda
this month's collab for Journeys: unfinished business.
A Little Behind
despite what it says on my birth certificate, Procrastination is indeed my middle name. this is a problem. it's especially a problem, because i have a competitive streak and high standards for myself. there are a lot of things i think i should get done, either on a daily basis or projects that i've set for myself. just to give you an idea, here's a little list. it's a subset of the running list that's always going thru my head, like the NYSE ticker.
- empty litter box
- get the cats groomed
- mop floor
- organize books, again
- go grocery shopping and buy something other than instant food
- cook real dinners more regularly
- do laundry
- redecorate living room
- repair my drop front desk
- work on family geneaology, including going to Ireland to find original documents
- buy a car
- buy an MG, take it apart, and rebuild it
- write my resum�
- get a new job
- go back to my school for my MFA
- get the job i really want - working in museums
- start another catering business
- start a consulting business
- successfully manage my stock portfolio
- win the lottery, to the tune of several million
- contribute more often to charities, both money and time
- learn to be more compassionate
- meditate more often
- travel to Nepal
- climb Mt. Fuji
- go snorkelling
- quit smoking
- go to the gym regularly
- go to the gym at all, actually
- win a gold medal in the Olympics
- get a tattoo or three
- learn how to ski
- go skydiving
- right after i conquer my fear of heights
- write and direct a Tony award winning play
- finish my Pulitzer winning novel
- draft the blueprints for my house
- learn carpentry, wiring, plumbing, and build said house
- learn to sail
- built a yacht so i can win the Whitbread
- run for office and become the first female President of the US
- establish a charitable organization
- find the cure for multiple sclerosis
- dye my hair green
- record my Grammy award winning blues album
- earn a law degree
- found a law firm that specializes in non-profit cases
- learn to speak Spanish, Italian and Gaelic
- travel more, at least once a year
- become a proficient photographer
- publish a travel book, illustrated with my own photos
as you can see, i've got my work cut out for me. whoops - gotta run - that's my agent on the phone. ;)
